The Scarlet Eye

In this episode of "Awkward" it's homecoming week. While everyone else is concerned about the bonfire later on that night, Jenna is concerned with 'DTRing" or "defining the relationship" with Matty (who hooked up with another girl in the last episode). Tamara wakes up with pink eye, which ends up being the result of her being in the hot tub at the party with about 10 other people who all end up with pink eye. She finds this her way into the "cool" crowd, but Sadie makes a rumor that she is faking it when Sadie is the real poser. Jenna goes to Ming and the school counselor for advice on whether or not to DTR with Matty and while Ming says yes the counselor says absolutely not. After this, Matty asks Jenna if she is going to be at the bonfire and they agree to meet up. Tamara then fills Jenna in on the fact that the bonfire is just an excuse for everyone to hook up after the bonfire goes out. This makes Jenna make up her mind and decides to finally DTR. When she gets to the bonfire, she sees Matty, but Ming shows up and Jenna is stuck with her for the night. Then, Ming's mom shows up and starts yelling at her because she lied about where she was going. After this happens, the school rivals show up with a water hose and Matty saves Jenna from getting wet and brings her behind the dumpsters. They end up hooking up and after Jenna asks Matty if they were "together" and Matty says he isn't looking for a girlfriend, but he likes hanging out with Jenna. While she admits she is really hurt by this to herself, she tells Matty she is "cool" about it. This episode was really fun and quirky, can't wait to see what happens on the next episode!
